EEK! It's a book promotion (with FREE stuff!)

To help goose sales of the EEK! collection, I'm offering fans of this blog (or maybe that's fan, singular) a cool little deal.

Buy a copy of EEK! and get the original art of an EEK! strip as a FREE bonus! Yes, that's right. Free original conic art when you buy the book.

If you choose to download the book, you'll get the original art from a single-panel cartoon.

This promo runs from now until the end of February 2009.

To receive the free art, simply email me (nickelscott@yahoo.com) the order number from Lulu and your address. Lulu handles book fulfillment; I'll send out the art.

You can buy the book here.

Happy shopping!

EEK! It's a Book Plug (on Piker Press)

When I spammed my mailing list -- I mean when I sent out an email announcing the publication of EEK! -- I received a very nice email from Sand Pilarski, managing editor of The Piker Press -- a weekly journal for arts, sciences, fiction and non-fiction, featuring a wide array of literature, from humor to drama.

Sand offered to run a small article about my cartooning background and EEK! and help promote the book. I was delighted and worked up a little mock interview. (I'm always taking to myself anyway; might as well put it to good use.)

You can read the piece here. Be sure to check out the other sections, too. Lots of good stuff there!

Name That Brain!

Hey, here's a fun idea.

It was suggested to me by cartoonist Brett Koth that the brain-in-a-jar that frequently appears in EEK! should have a name. I think that's a great idea, and I want to include all EEK! aficionados in the fun.

What should we name the brain?

Let the comments fly!

First Post of 2009!

I used this image on some New Year's cards I sent to various clients.

I usually send a card for Christmas, but thought I'd try something a bit different this year.

I noticed a significant drop in cards I received by mail. PLAYBOY sent out an e-card this year. A new trend?

Anyone else still send paper cards at the holidays -- either business or personal?
