For me, B is a tad too ambiguous. I like A much better, except that it uses your "money" phrase too early. Maybe adjust to put Poo at the end: "You've read the employee handbook. You know our policy on flinging poo." ... just a thought. Love the cartoon. What could be funnier than flinging poo?
I prefer B. It requires a bit more thought and not knowing exactly what he did is funnier. Maybe not for those who liek to think to much. I'd also change the language to: DIDN'T YOU GET THE MEMO ON FLINGIN' POO?
That implies that he's already done something wrong.
Scott, I was catching up on reading the comics I read online (busy week) and I noticed that in Thursday 2/7's "EEK!" strip you have published a reformatted version of Version A, with slightly modified dialogue: "You've read the employee handbook. You know our policy on flinging poo."
Why did you take out the part about "permissible in break time only"? Too wordy?
Moreover, I was wondering why you chose to publish this as an "EEK!" cartoon. It seems more like a "Showbuzz" kind of panel; I don't see any reason for it being lumped in with the "scary" theme.

By day, I work as a writer/editor at Paws, Inc., Jim Davis' creative studio in Indiana. By night, I write and draw. Burning the midnight oil, I've created the comic strip EEK! (syndicated online by Uclick), hundreds of humorous greeting cards for companies like American Greetings, fiction and non-fiction for BOYS' LIFE, several award-winning children's books, and cartoons for MAD, MAD Australia, MAD Germany, WALL STREET JOURNAL, BOYS' LIFE, MEDICAL ECONOMICS, PHYSICIAN'S WEEKLY, THE SUN, WOMAN'S WORLD, NICKELODEON, READER'S DIGEST and PLAYBOY. I think I need a nap.

Version A.
I like Poo memo one better. Much more can be read into it.
Rick
I like A better.
In version B, you don't know if flinging poo is good, bad, or part of their job in monkey world.
In A you see that the monkeys in monkey world are striving for some degree of civility, and frown upon on-the-clock poo flinging.
I don't know. I think A just works better.

I like Version A better because "flinging poo" and "permissible" sound funny together.

Regardless, it's still a funny cartoon.

Casey's version (which I credit in the strip) appealed to me.
As for the subject matter: I like to expand the parameters of the strip now and then. Not all gags have to be about monsters, horror and sci-fi.
Rest assured, I won't play around with the mix too much.
